Staff Reporter : At least eight people were killed and 12 others injured when an oil taker rammed into a shallow-engine driven Nosimon in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj this morning. Of the deceased, five are–Makbel, Banya, Rajufa, Anjana and Sobhan–all residents of Boro Maharajpur village of the upazila. Identities of three others could be known immediately, reports our Sirajganj correspondent. OC of Shahjadpur police station Rezaul Haque said: “The accident took place when a Baghabari-bound oil taker rammed into a Nosimon coming from opposite direction in Garadah area on the Bogra-Nagarbari Highway around 6:15am Tuesday, leaving five people dead on the spot. “Of the ten injured, three died on way to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital while nine others were admitted to the hospital.”
