Feni Correspondent :Eight persons, including a local Chhatra League leader, were injured when a Juba League leader and his associates shot at them at Panchgasia in Feni Sadar upazila on Sunday night over drug trading.Of the injured, Relief and Disaster Management Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, Feni Upazila unit, Riaz Sikder and his two associates are now under treatment at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital. Doctors said that Riaz received bullets in his forehead and chest. Their conditions are stated to be critical.Sources said that dispute between Juba League leader Dalim and Chhatra League leader Riaz over illegal drug trading reached its climax on Sunday night near Progati Filling Station at Panchgasia. All on a sudden, Dalim and his group shot at Riaz and his group and fled away before local people reached there..The local people rescued the victims and took them to the new Feni Sadar Hospital. The attending physician transferred Riaz and other victims to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital as their condition deteriorated. The duty doctors of that hospital said that Riaz had bullet injuries in his forehead and chest.Mohiuddin Didar, Convener of Union Juba League said, Chhatra League leader Riaz was injured as a result of internal dispute. However, he demanded that none of the perpetrators were activists of Juba League at any level. Sources reveal that family members of Riaz are preparing to file a case to resolve this issue. Md. Shahinuzzaman, Officer- in-Charge (Investigating ) of Feni Model Thana said, a huge number of police ran to the crime spot when news of this incidence was flashed. He said that the police were trying to identify the criminals related to this crime.
