Members of Coast Guard in a drive arrested eight people and seized 5,000 bottles of foreign liquor from a boat at the outer anchorage of Chittagong port on Wednesday.
Tipped off, a team of coast Guard members conducted a drive in the area and recovered 5,000 bottles of foreign liquor from a boat anchored at the outer anchorage of the port early in the morning, said Commander of East Zone Coast Guard Captain Shahidul Islam.
Later the Coast Guard members arrested eight people from the boat.
They were carrying the liquor from Myanmar, said Shahidul.
The market value of the seized liquor is Tk 1.20 crore, he said.
