Eight more persons were arrested over raping three girls in separate incidents of the country on Monday.
In Jashore, Police arrested at least six alleged rapists from bordering Putkhali area of Benapole over raping two women, while they were intruding into India through Benapole border on Sunday night.
The accused have been identified as Sohel, 30, Arif, 29, Abdullah, 27, Shimul, 35, Plabon, 28 and Morshed. Father of another suspect Rafiul has been detained as he went into hiding.
Benapole Port Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Saleh Masud Karim said. Legal action will be taken against the detainees, he added.
In Barishal, Police arrested two college students over raping a Madrasah girl from Gouronodi upazila of the district on Monday.
The accused are identified as Sarowar Hossain, 21, son of one Abdur Rahman from Sherpur district, and Mahfujul Rahman Sadik, 18, son of one Moksedul Sarker from Gaibandha district. Both were the Students of a Textile Engineering College of Gouronodi.
Victim’s mother filed a case against three youths, including a master planner Sajjad Hossain Shawn, 19, who pretended love with the teenage girl. As a result one day Shawn called the girl to his flat and finally he with his two friends raped the girl alternate.
