As many as eight (08) gang rapists including their ring leaders were arrested by a contingent of RAB-6 after raiding the different places of Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district on Monday. The arrested rapists are AbulKalam Azad alias Shukur (24), Md. Aslam Shaikh (22), MarufBilla (22), Joni Shaikh (19), Raju Shaikh (24) Rasel Shaikh (22), Raju Shaikh (18).
It is learnt from a source of RAB-6 that the victim is a worker of a garments factory of Mongla Port town. At Sunday evening the victim was returning home in Rampal Upazila along with his collegue Hridoy. At that timed Abul Kalam Azad alias Shukur, Md. Aslam Shaikh and some others appeared before them. They tied the hands and legs of her collegue Hridoy and beat him seriously.
They took the victim to a nearby Madrasa compound where they committed gang rape one after another. At one stage when she cried out loudly the rapists fled away. The mother of the victim informed the RAB-6 of the matter at the same night. The RAB after identified the position of the victims by using modern technology and arrested 8 members of the gang rapists after raiding the different places of Rampal Upazila.
