Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained eight fake police during Sunday night-long drives in different spots of the capital.
The identities of the detained persons could not be known immediately.
The detectives also recovered jacket, handcuffs, woki toki, fake pistols and a microbus from their possession, said Maruf Hossain Sardar Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP.
They had been committing random crimes in guise of DB across the city, the police official said.
The detained persons were being interrogated in this connection, he said.
