Some eight students of Dhaka University Chemistry Department have been awarded “Prof Abdul Muktadir Memorial Scholarship” for their outstanding academic performances.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships on Thursday among the students as chief guest at a function at the VC’s lounge of the university.
DU Treasurer Prof Md Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Chemistry Department Chairperson Prof Nilufar Nahar, one of the donors of the trust fund Dr Abdul Monaem and Acting Registrar Md Enamuzzaman were present, among others, on the occasion.
Prof Siddique urged the students to equip themselves with moral values to make Bangladesh a prosperous country.
“Students will have to make themselves as worthy citizens along with their academic excellence,” he added.
The recipients of the scholarships are- Pushpita Acharjee, Md Mazharul Islam, Salma Akter Mou, Imrul Shahriar, M Mahmudul Hasan, Tanjinatul Karim, Raihana Afroz and Maksuda Perveen.
