Eight bogies of a oil tanker train derailed in Halidagachhi area of Charghat upazila of Rajshahi district on Wednesday evening.
Following the accident, the rail communication between Rajshahi and Capital City was snapped.
Naznin Aktar, Station Master of Rajshahi Charghat Sardah Railway confirmed the matter to media that the oil tanker train was going to Ishwardi from Rajshahi. On the way, the train derailed near Digholkandi Dhalon in the west of Charghat Halidagachhi Railway gate in Rajshahi around 6:30 pm.
But, no casualties were reported from the incident yet. The relief train coming from Ishwardi will begin salvage work, the Station Master added.
