Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested eight suspected members of the banned Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from different parts of Narayanganj and Comilla in drives carried out from Thursday evening to early Friday.
A team of RAB conducted drive in Gouripur area in Daudkandi upazila and arrested
Md AKhteruzzaman Maruf, 32, hailing from Daudkandi upazila, Hafex Mawlana Omar Faruk, hailing from Muradnagar upazila, Md Kashem Munshi, hailing from Titash upazila along with jihadi books and bomb-making substances, said a press release of RAB-11.
The team also arrested Md Jamal alias Rase Zihahi, 35, hailing from Shariatpur, Khandaker Abu Naim Zihadi, 49, hailing from Kadamtali area, Md Nurul Afsar, 27, hailing from Demra area of Dhaka city, Md Mohosin, hailing from Shibchar of Madaripur district, Zabir Hawlader, 22, hailing from Morelganj area of Bagerhat district from Signboard area of Siddhirganj upazila in Narayanganj.
The press release also said that the arrested JMB members are the active members of the Sarwar-Tamim group.
