The 79th birthday of Professor AK Fazlul Haque was observed in a befitting manner on Sunday. Jagoroni Santi Songho organised the function at Sangskritik Bikash Kendro in the city.
The leaders of different socio-cultural and political organisations attended the function to pay their respects to Professor AK Fazlul Haque.
Swadesh Chinta Songho, Rajniti Oddhyaon Forum, Nagorik Bhabna, Amader Path Chokro, Samajik Gonotanrik Party and Sonar Bangla Party presented bouquets to Professor AK Fazlul Haque.
Professor Farida Prodhan, wife of Professor AK Fazlul Haque, family members Professor Shuchita Sormin, Riad Farhan, Andalib Hassan among others, were also present at the function.
Professor Siddiqur Rahaman, Naznin Akter, Hassan Fakri, Prof. Humayun Kabir Hiru, Taposh Paramanik and Robbar Editor Syed Tosharaf Ali spoke on the occasion lauding the contributions of Professor Fazlul Haque to various fields.
Speaking on the occasion Syed Tosharaf Ali pointed out the major causes of the failure of the left politics in Bangladesh and other countries.
Prof. Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque in his speech briefly stated some of his personal experiences in life. He appealed to the guests in the function to evaluate his 28- point programme where he has expressed his thoughts and ideas. He thanked everybody for attending the function arranged by his well-wishers and friends.
