Police, in special drives from Wednesday night to this morning, arrested 43 persons including one drug trader, and recovered illegal drugs- five bottles of Phensidyl syrup and 600-gram of ganja from eight upazilas of the district.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 10 persons, Kalaroa police six, Tala police three, Kaliganj police five including one drug trader with 600-gram of ganja, Shyamnagar police four, Assasuni police 11, Patkelghata police three and Debhata police arrested one accused.
Police, in another special drives from Thursday night to this morning, arrested 36 persons including one drug trader, an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami and recovered illegal drugs- 20 pieces of Yaba tablets and 100-gram of ganja from seven upazilas of the district.
