Police in separate drives arrested at least 77 people, including warranted accused from different parts of the district yesterday night.
Kazi Abdul Awal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district, said police detained 77 people including warranted accused from different upazilas of the district for their alleged involvement in sabotage acts and vandalism. The police also seized 150-gram marijuana during the drives.
Among the arrestees, 71 were arrested following the warrants and six were accused in regular cases, the police official said.
