Some 76 journalists of Bagerhat district received cheques of the Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina as financial support to them for working in the field in corona pandemic prevailing in the country in a ceremony organized by Bagerhat Press Club in its auditorium on Tuesday.
S M Mahfuzul Haq, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Information (Press) affair of Bangladesh Government addressed the ceremony and distributed the cheques among the journalists as the chief guest while it was presided over by Md. Mamunur Rashid, DC, Bagerhat.
Pankaj Chandra Roy, Police Super of Bagerhat addressed the ceremony as the special guest. It was also addressed by Adv. Md. Mozaffor Hossain, President of Bagerhat Press Club, Md. Mozaharul Islam, district Information Officer, Firojul Islam, APS of Shaikh Helal Uddinm, MP of Bagerhat Constituency-1, Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husain, former President of the Club, Ahad Uddin Haidar former President of the Club, Nihar Ranjon Saha, Vice-president, Shaikh Azmal Hossain, Assistnat Secretary and journalist Samir Baran Paik. Under the auspices of Bangladesh Sangbadik Kalyan Trust all those 76 journalists received the cheques. Each of the cheque carries the value of Tk.10 thousand.
