A total of 75 ethnic minority community’s students of Rajshahi City Corporation were given scholarship on Wednesday.
Social Welfare Office, Rajshahi, organised the scholarship giving ceremony at the City’s Hall Room of Nagar Bhaban.
RCC mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton addressed the function as the chief guest.
A total of Tk 7, 03200 were given scholarship among the students of small ethnic groups under the fiscal year of 2018-2029.
Of them, 50 from primary level while 12 from secondary level, 8 from higher secondary level and 5 from higher level received the scholarship cheque respectively.
At the function, RCC mayor Liton, said that the government not only working for marginalized community’s people but also working sincerely for those people who are members of small ethnic groups in Bangladesh.
Following the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country has some remarkable and praiseworthy achievements in the education sector, the mayor added.
