Police, in special drives from Friday night to this morning, arrested 60 accused on various charges from eight upazilas of the district.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district. Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Later, they were sent to the jail after police produced them before the court today, the sources said.
BSS from Sathkhira adds: Police, in special drives from Friday night to this morning, arrested 25 accused including one Jamaat-E-Islami activist, on various charges from seven upazilas of the district.

During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 10 accused, Kalaroa police 5 accused including a Jamaat-E-Islami activist, Tala police 1, Kaliganj police 3 , Shyamnagar police 2, Assasuni police 2, Patkelghata police 1 and Debhata police 1 accused.
