Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police in a joint-drive recovered at least 74 crude bombs from the residence of Mir Ali Newaz, 45, Join Secretary General of Jubo Dal central unit, in the capital’s Lalbagh area early hours of Wednesday.
Law enforcers also detained two persons in this connection.
They were identified as Badsha, 44, and Anis, 30, police said.
The members of the law enforcing agencies could not arrest the house owner Newaz as he was not present during the drive.
Lalbagh Police Station’s Officer-in Charge (OC) Md Moniruzzaman said that a team of RAB-10 and police raided the house and arrested them around 2:00am.
The law enforcers also recovered 2kg Potassium, huge amount of splinters and bomb making material in the raid, the police official said.
The detainees were taken on interrogation, he added.
Police are trying to arrest the Newaz, the OC said.
