In the latest haul in the ongoing battle against drug smuggling, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive seized at least 730,000 pieces of Yaba pills from Cox’s Bazar coastal area on Wednesday morning.
The estimated price of the Yaba at around Tk 29.20 crore.
Seven persons along with a fishing trawler were detained during the drive, RAB official said.
RAB-7 Company Commander (CO)
Lieutenant SM Saud Hossain said that on a tip off, they conducted a drive in the area and seized those Yaba tablets from a trawler.
The arrested men were interrogated in this connection, the RAB official said.
A case had been filed with the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station in this connection, the CO said.
“We have also detained the owner of the trawler based on information of Yaba smuggler.
