Water levels in 73 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 8 stations recorded fall.Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at six monitored river stations are flowing above their respective danger marks, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Friday.
The Teesta at Dalia, the Khowai at Habiganj and at Ballah are flowing above their respective danger levels by 23 cm, 120 cm and 23 cm while Someswari at Durgapur, Muhuri at Porsuram and Halda at Narayanhat are flowing above the danger levels by 22 cm, 25 cm and 55 cm. All major river systems are in rising trend, the bulletin added. Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Friday.
A total of 170 mm were recorded at Lorergarh, 145 mm at Panchpukuria, 64 mm at Lama, 50 mm at Dewanganj, 78 mm at Narayanhat, 110 mm at Ramgarh, 103 mm at Bandarban, 125mm at Sunamganj, 65 mm at Bhairab Bazar, 68 mm at Pabna, 128 mm at Chittagong, 120 mm at Teknaf, 94.5 mm at Panchagarh, 75.3 mm at Noakhali, 68 mm at Moulvi Bazar, 57.8 mm at Patuakhali, 52.5 mm at Faridpur, 70 mm at Jamalpur and 53 mm at Bogra.
