A senior citizen was found murdered in her residence in the city’s Mirpur area on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Sharifunnesa, 72, resident of Mirpur-10.
The law enforcers recovered the throat-slit body from the house getting information, police said.
Pallabi Police Station-Officer-in-Charge (OC) Dadan Fakir said that Sharifunnesa’s son Babu and daughter-in-law, who
lived with her, went out of their house to visit a patient in a city hospital in the evening. But when they returned at 12:15am. They found the throat-slit body in the bed room on the second floor of the house No 44, Mirpur-10.
Police collected samples from the house to investigate the incident, the OC said.
“The building’s security guard Rakib has been detained after we came to know that he had dinner with the victim on Wednesday,” said the police officer.
A murder case had been filed with the police station regarding the incident, he said.
