72 pc work of Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar rail route completes

The work of the railway line project on Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar route is progressing rapidly towards the fulfillment of the dream. As of last June, 72 percent of the project has progressed. The dream of going to Cox’s Bazar by train via Dhaka-Chittagong in June next year will be fulfilled only when the remaining 28 percent work is completed. The work of laying 40 kilometers of railway line has already been completed.
In this regard, Project Director Engineer Mofizur Rahman told the media that we are working to finish the Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar railway project quickly. Although my project duration is in 2024 but the project has to be completed by next year. By 2023 we should be running trains. So I hope to finish all the work by 2023. After that, the train trial will start on this railway. As of last June, the total progress of the project is 72 percent. Out of 50 km in Cox’s Bazar section, 35 km and 5 km in Chittagong section have been laid. Construction of 35 km railway line has been completed in Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Eidgaon, Chakria, Harbang and Ramu areas. Along with the laying of the remaining 60 km of railway line, the laying of the signaling cable is going on. 85 percent of soil filling work has been completed.
80 percent of major and minor bridges and culverts have been completed.
