Atleast 30 mayor aspirants submitted nomination papers in seven municipalities out of eight in Kishoreganj for the upcoming poura election 2015.
In Kishoreganj Pourashava five mayor candidates submitted their nomination papers. They are : Awami League nominated Md. Parves Mia, BNP nominated Mazharul Islam, BNP rival Haji Israil Miah, CPB-BSD nominated Abul Hasem Master and Bikolpa-Dhara nominated Faruk Ahmed Khan.
Bhairab Pourashava mayor candidates 5 person including ruling AL-BNP, Katiadi Pourashava mayor candidates 4 person, Karimganj Pourashava mayor candidates 3, Bajitpur Pourashava Mayor candidates 4 Person and Kuliarchar Pourashava ruling AL- One and BNP One person.
Narsingdi Correspondent adds: A total of 19 mayoral candidates submitted nomination papers for three pourashavas election to their respective election officers on Thursday, the last day of submitting nomination paper.
Of them 8 mayoral candidates submitted nomination papers to returning officer for Narsingdi Pourashava, 4 mayoral candidates submitted for Madhobdi Pourashava and 7 mayoral candidate submitted for Monohardi pourashava to their respective election officers.
In Narsingdi Pourashava – Seven Mayoral candidates who submitted their nomination paper are the present Mayor ,President of Narsingdi Town( Awami League),Kamruzzaman Kamrul, Shaiful Islam Shohel (BNP), Former vice president Bangladesh Chattra League ASM Quaim Independent), Mukijuddah Sadaqur Rahman(jatiya Party), Farjana Aktar (National Peoples Party),Siddiqur Rahman (Independent) and Jamat leaderJohirul Islam Manik(Independent) Besides 47 candidate for general commissioner and 15 women candidate for women commissioner submitted nomination paper for Nine ward in Narsingdi Pourashava.
In Madhobdi Pourashava four Mayoral candidates who submitted nomination papers are Present mayor Haji Mohammad Elias (BNP),Mosharaf Hossain Manik (Awami league),Harun Miah (Islami Andalon,Bangladesh),and Abdul Baten Shahin (Independent). Besides 45 candidates for general commissioner and 10 womencandidates for women commissioner submitted nomination papers for 12 ward in Madhobdi pourashava.
S.A.Shofiee from Sylhet reports: A total of 23 mayoral aspirants submitted their nomination papers on Thursday in three upazilas of Sylhet district ahead of the upcoming Municipality Election.
Meanwhile, a total of 118 male and 24 female candidates also submitted their nominations for Councilor and Reserved Woman Councilor posts respectively.
According to the sources, there are a total of 32 candidates against 9 councilor posts and 8 candidates against reserved woman councilor posts in Zakignaj upazila while the six Mayor candidates are Awami League (AL) nominated Khalikur Rahman, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) nominated Badrul Haque Badal, Jatiya Party (JP) nominated Abdul Malek Faruque, Khelafat Majlis nominated Jafrul Islam and independent candidate Faruque Ahmed and Kazi Hifzur Rahman.
