72-hr ultimatum to rescue of jewelry trader

Despite passing of three days, the whereabouts of the kidnapped jewelry trader Mridul Chowdhury yet to be traced.
Jeweller Mridul was abducted from his residence premises in KC Dey road in city on Tuesday morning by a group of miscreants impersonating themselves as DB-RAB personnel.
But it is yet to trace who committed this crime by the law enforcers. Message regarding abduction sent to all CMP and district level thanas for taking actions at their respective areas.
Meanwhile Chittagong Jewelry Association declared 72 hours ultimatum for rescue of Kidnapped Mridul Chowdhury at a press conference held at Chittagong Press Club on Wednesday .
 The press meet was also placed 3-point demands.
These demands include human chain, joint movement with Shop Owners Federation and token strike if the abduct not rescued by this ultimatum period. Family members of Mridul Chowdhury including wife Selli Chowdhury were present in the press meet.
On the other hand, Jeweller Mridul earlier lodged a looting case against RAB-2 officials for alleged looting of 80 tolas gold on January 15 last before the CMM court in Dhaka.
President of CJA Nurul Absar Chowdhury read out the written statement before the newsmen. Among others, Senior vice President Mridul Kanti Dhar, General Secretary Subash Dhar, Joint Secretary Swapan Chowdhury, ward councilor Jahar Lal Hazari and family members of the abduct were present in the meet.
