72 arrested in DMP’s anti-narcotics drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted anti-drug drives in different areas of the capital and arrested 87 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in last 24 hours till 6:00am Saturday (May 21).
Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.
During the drives, police seized 24255 Yaba tablets, 21.725Kg 30 puria hemp, 13 bottle Phensedyl, 37gm 17 puria heroin and 15 drug injections from their possessions, a DMP statement said.
Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.
According to the statement, a total of 56 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
