’71bangladesh’ web archive starts its journey

A Web Archive based on Liberation named “71bangladesh” has started its journey in an inauguration ceremony aiming to make easy the history of Liberation War for the people all over the country from Monday.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the archive at the Liberation War Museum as the chief guest. Ekattor Bangladesh organised the function.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University and President of Ekattor Bangladesh Professor Anwar Hossain presided the function while Dhaka University, History Department teacher and General Secretary of Ekattor Bangladesh Professor Ashfaque Hossain moderated it.
Trustee of Liberation War Museum Mafidul Haque and Liberation War researcher Dr M A Hasan were the special guests while Jagannath University (JnU) teacher and Finance Secretary of Ekattor Bangladesh Din Islam and JnU teacher and Executive Member of Ekattor Bangladesh Md Hasibul Hasan were present, among others.
Dr Atiur Rahman said the Liberation War was started due to regional problem and repression. The interest of South East Asia also influenced it. At one stage, it became the worldwide issue. The World leaders thought about the war. That is why, the historical elements of Liberation War spreads all over the globe, he said.
Professor Anwar Hossain said the activities of the web archive are to collect the historical elements from different countries. The archive also will be a reliable collection center.
Professor Ashfaque Hossain said, “The archive is based on Liberation War. We will collect the books on Liberation War, writings of the writers from home and abroad, documents and interviews of different intellectuals and researchers.
