71 accused in murder case denied bail, sent to jail in Jhenaidah

The Senior Judicial Magistrate Court in Jhenaidah have sent 71 accused in a murder case to prison rejecting their bail petition on Thursday afternoon.
The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Maniruzzaman have given the order .
The court sources said, following a post polls violence during the fourth phase union parishad elections, a fierce clash took place at Soyail village of Padmakar union under Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on April 8 between two ruling Awami League leaders Imajul Haque and Shahabuddin Ahmed. At least 10 persons were injured. Of the injured some Akamat Hossain Mir was declared dead when he was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital.
Akbar Ali Mir, a brother of Akamat filed a case against 73 identified and 60 others unidentified persons with Jhenaidah Sadar police in this connection. Of the 73 accused, 71 appeared in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Maniruzzaman seeking bail petition on Thursday.
