Directorate of Environment (DoE) seized 700 kilograms of banned polythine bags from Textile gate area in the city on Thursday.
Azadur Rahman Mollick, director of Directorate of Environ-ment, with the personnel of Chittagong Metro-politan police and Rapid Action Battalion conducted a drive in Textile gate area and busted a polythene-manufacturing factory.
The law enforcers also recovered 700 kilograms of polythene from there.
However, the members of the law enforcement agencies could not arrest anyone as owner and employee of the factory managed to flee the scene sensing the raid.
