Staff Reporter :Customs officials in a drive seized 7,000 mobile phone sets worth Tk 20 crore at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Saturday morning. Acting on a tip-off, the customs officials raided the cargo section of the airport and recovered the mobile sets in 24 cartons at about 10:30am, said Assistant Commissioner of Customs (Preventive) Shahiduzzaman Sarkar.The cell phone sets were brought illegally from Hong Kong, he said.Market value of the seized mobile sets is estimated for Tk 20 crore, the customs official said.A case had been filed in this connection, he added.On May 28, customs authorities seized 15,000 mobile phone sets worth about Tk 45 crore at the same airport, which was also brought in a flight of Hong Kong Airways.
