A court in Habiganj has ordered death sentences for seven people for killing a farmer almost ten years ago.
On June 22, 2008, Abul Mia was hacked to death in his village in Nabiganj Upazila following a land dispute.
The 55-year-old victim’s brother started a murder case the same day against eight people.
Police pressed charges against seven of them.
On Wednesday, the Additional District and Sessions Judge’s Court convicted all defendants: Martuz Ali, his sons Faysal, Sazlu and Mainul, daughter Shifa Begum, brother Basir and Sundar Mia.
