Detective Branch of the police arrested 7 suspected members of mobile tower battery theft gangs by raiding several places in Jashore, Satkhira and Khulna. The police also recovered some batteries and equipments on Monday .
The arrested are Harunar Rashid,38, of Barandipara, Mesbah Uddin,32 and Mostafizur Rahman, 27, of Jhumjhumpur, Raqibul Islam, 38 and Abdur Rahim Mollah,59 of Sitarampur under Kotwali police station in Jashore, Nizam Uddin, 36, of Raghunathpur village under Kalaroa upazila and Khairul Islam, 30, of Enayetpur under Kotwali police station in Jashore.
A press release issued by Jashore police stated that the police also recovered several batteries, cooling vans, a pick- up van and three equipments used to break locks.
The raids were started on January 24, the press release added.
