The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed cases against seven teachers of different schools in Bashkhali upazila under Chittagong district separately on charge of certificate forgery and taking extra facilities illegally.
Md Wahiduzzaman, Deputy Director of ACC Chittagong District Office, filed the cases with the Banshkhali Police Station yesterday.
The ACC DD said that the accused teachers working in seven schools submitting fake certificates to the Primary and Mass Education Ministry when
their schools were given the status of government primary school. Apart from it, they enjoyed extra monetary facilities illegally.
The ACC sources said Mir Zahirul Haque, Assistant Teacher of the then Uttar Napora Registered Primary School, submitted fake certificate and got extra monetary facilities for Tk 8,200 in 41 months.
Abdul Hakim Chowdhury, Assistant Teacher of the then Noyapara Registered Primary School, managed promotion submitting bogus certificate and received Tk 3,060 illegally in 15 months and 10 days.
Shibli Mokter Ahmed, Assistant Teacher of the then Shelbon Registered Primary School got Tk 7,000 by submitting fake certificate.
Shahidullah Chowdhury, Assistant Teacher of the then Shekherkhil Registered Primary School, took Tk 9,000 from the government fund in the same way.
The ACC found Abu Shama Mohammad Yousuf, Assistant Teacher of the then Modhya Baraghona Registered Primary School, who received Tk 8,000 illegally in 40 months.
The ACC accused Farid Ahmed, Assistant Teacher of the then Gandomara Registered Primary School, Tk 21,000 of taking by submitting duplicate certificate.
Shafiullah Azmi, Assistant Teacher of the then Uttar Napora Registered Primary School, was accused of taking Tk 8,200 in the same way.
It may be mentioned that the ACC received written allegations against the aforementioned teachers in 2012. The ACC investigated and found signs of forgery and irregularity.
