The leaders and activists of ruling Awami League geared up again for the upcoming poll of Sylhet Zilla Parishad.
The bio-data of Seven leaders of Awami League already been submitted for the post of Chairman of the Parishad in the next poll.
Presidim Member of AL and Former Director of Bangladesh Krishi Bank ANM Shofikul Haque, Acting President of Sylhet District Awami League and Chairman of Sylhet Zilla Parished Adv Lutfur Rahman, Chairman of North-East University Bangladesh Trusty Board and Former Chairman of Golapgonj Upazilla Parished Adv Iqbal Ahmed Choudhury, Former Chairman of Rupali Bank and Jubo League Presidium Member Dr. Ahmed Al Kobir, Sylhet District Joint Secretary Advocate Nizam Uddin, Adv Nasir Uddin Khan, District AL Office Secretary Joglu Chowdhury have already submitted their CVs to the office of Prime Minister and President of Bangladesh Awami League Sheikh Hasina for nomination from the party on Thursday.
They have started lobbying to get the nomination from Awami League as the confirmation of nomination is the confirmation of victory in absence of opposition BNP. Meanwhile, the BNP declared that they would boycott the upcoming Zilla Parishad poll. So, there is no activity of the leaders or councilors of BNP in Sylhet for the upcoming poll.
Among the nomination seekers for the post of Chairman of Sylhet Zilla Parishad in the next poll, Sylhet District Awami League Advocate Lutfur Rahman on the top.
