Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained seven Rohingya people, including two minor children, from Hijaldi border area in Kolaroa upazila on Tuesday morning.
The detainees are Md Parvej Miah, 20, Saiful Islam, 27, Suktara Bibi, 19, Selim Ahmed, 28, Asma Khatun, 23, Jakir Hossain, 2, and eight-month child Mariam, hailing from Boro Sikderpara and Dounsilpara villages in Moungdow district of Myanmar.
Nayek Subedar Omar Faruk of Hijaldi camp, said a team of BGB detained them while they were roaming around the area in the morning.
Later, they told the BGB members that they are Myanmar citizens and came to the border for going to India.
