Some 7 pirates were arrested from Bor Point area of the Bay of Bengal by a contingent of the Coastguards of the Western Zone deployed Mongla in the morning of Thursday while the pirates were taking preparation to commit a piracy in a foreign commercial ship waiting in the Bay of Bengal, according to a report received here, At that time some home made arms like Chapati, axes, big knives, blades, hand saws, 7 pieces of Yaba tablets and 20 grams ganja from their possession.
The arrested pirates are Md. Harun (45), Md. Shawon (12), Imamul Bepari (23), Ansar Khan (40), Shamsu Bepari 30), Mobarak Khan (30) and Munna Talukdar (22). They all hail from Kanainagar and Joymoni within Chila Union Parishad under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district.
