7 more killed in road crashes

At least seven more persons, including a Freedom Fighter and medical student, were killed and several others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.
In Feni, at least three persons including a Freedom Fighter were killed and seven others seriously injured when a passenger bus rammed a human hauler on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Lemua Bridge on Wednesday.
Of the deceased, one was identified as Abdus Subhan, a Freedom Fighter.
Akbar Hossain, in charge of Muhuriganj police outpost confirmed the news to media that the accident occurred at 4:15pm when a speedy bus rammed a human hauler from behind in the area, leaving two dead on the spot and eight others injured.
In Gazipur, a Flight Officer named Abul Hossain, 50, was killed when a passenger bus rammed him at Borobari area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Road on Wednesday morning.
Md. Ismail Hossain, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police told the matter to media.
In Khulna, a third year student of Khulna Medical College was killed in a
road accident in Khulna city on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Ariful Islam (Akash), 22, K-24 batch student of the Medical college.
Shafikul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Labanchora Police Station confirmed the news to media that Akash met with the tragic accident on the Rupsha Bridge by-pass road of Labanchora at around 9:30 am.
In Cumilla, a woman was killed and five other passengers were injured when a bus rammed a leguna on the Cumilla-Sylhet Highway in Burichang upazila on Wednesday.
The accident took place around 11:30am.The victims couldn’t be identified instantly.
Moinamoti Highway Police Outpost Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman told the media that a bus of Sugandha Paribahan collided with a leguna in Horindhora area, leaving the woman dead on the spot, but fortunately her minor child was unhurt.
In Rangamati, a youth named Genius Talukder, 26, was killed in a road crash at Sajek union under the Bagaichhari upazila of the district on Wednesday.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Roiloipara Police Camp Rajob Ali told the matter to media.
