7 more killed in road crashes

At least 7 more persons were killed and several others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Sunday.
In Pabna, at least three day-labourers were killed in a road crash at Nurpur Bypass on the Pabna-Ishwardy Highway on Sunday morning.
The accident occurred when a Pabna-bound Timber-laden truck coming from Ishwardy overturned at 8:00am, leaving three workers dead on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Ahmed Ali, 48, from Natunpara village, Shahin Alam, 50, from Baludia village, and Rabiul, 45 from Kachugari village of Chatmohar Upazila. Obaidul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station told the news to media.
In Jashore, a man named Khokon Biswas (48) was killed in a road crash in Benapole Upazila of the district.
The incident took place on the Jashore-Benapole Highway Road on Saturday night
After the incident, agitated people vandalized several buses on the spot. Khokon Biswas was a local small businessman. He was the son of Maqbool Biswas of Chasara in Jashore City. Humayun Kabir,Office In-Charge (OC) of Chanchra Outpost Police confirmed the matter to media.
In Savar, at least two persons were killed in a road crash when a bus rammed a CNG run auto-rickshaw in Dhamrai upazila near Dhaka. Three others were seriously injured in the incident.
The accident occurred on the Regional Road of Chauhat union of the upazila on Saturday evening.
The deceased were identified as Amin Hossain and his brother in-law Sifat Hossain. All were auto-rickshaw passengers. Dhamrai Police Station Sub-Inspector Kamruzzaman confirmed the matter to media.
In Habiganj, a minor schoolboy named Niloy Das, 8, was killed in a road accident in Madhabpur upazila of the district. The incident occurred at Goalnagar village of the union on Sunday noon.
Niloy was the son of Barendro Das.
Madhabpur police Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdus Sattar told the matter to media.
