At least seven more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Thakurgaon, a local trader died when a human hauler rammed him on the road at Nishchintapur in Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon on Monday morning.
Deceased Habibur Rahman, 30, was the son of Hasan Ali, an inhabitant of Ranisankail upazila of the district.
Shamsul Alam, Office in Charge (OC) of Sapahar Police Station confirmed the news to media.
In Gopalganj, a transport worker was killed when a bus ran over him in Gopalganj district town on Monday.
Deceased Noor Mohammad Mitu, 45, was a member of the district Transport Workers’ Union, said union President Jasu Sheikh.
Sadar police OC Monirul Islam said Mitu met the tragic death while crossing the road in Kuadaga area.
In Chittagong, a motorcyclist named Nurul Kabir ,55, was killed when a
Chittagong City Corporation’s vehicle hit him in the town. The accident occurred at the head of the city’s Chandpura Road around 1:30 pm on Sunday.
The deceased was the resident of Patia.
Alauddin Talukder, ASI of Chittagong Medical College Hospital Police Outpost Confirmed the matter to media.
In Narail, a housewife named Roksana Begum ,45,died when she fell from son’s motorcycle in Narail.
The incident took place at Burikhali village of Khalia upazila on Monday.
Local Purulia Union Chairman Amirul Islam Moni confirmed the matter to media. In Jhenaidah, a motorcyclist named Shariful Islam ,40, was killed when a bus struck him on the Bypass Road of Jhenaidah city.
The accident occurred on the way to Faridpur on Monday. Deceased Shariful was the son of Sirajul Islam of Kuti Durgapur village of Sadar upazila.
Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emdadul Haque Sheikh told tne news media. In Bagerhat, a truck driver named Sarafat Hossain (25) was killed when a truck hit him in Mollahat of Bagerhat district.
Two more persons were seriously injured in this incident.
The accident took place on Sunday mid night at Joddi on the Khulna-Mawa Highway in the district.
The injured were rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital. The deceased was identified as Sarafat Hossain, son of Kachu Khan of Narail District town. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Mollahat Police Station Kazi Golam Kabir told the matter to media.
In Brahmanbaria, a one year old child named Mahima was killed when an autorickshaw hit her in Brahmanbaria.
The accident occurred at Urshira village of Machhihata union under sadar upazila at 11:30 am on Monday.
Mahima was the daughter of Abul Hasnat.
Officer in-Charge (OC) of Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station told the news to media.
