7 more killed in road crashes

At least seven persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Tuesday.
In Naogaon, at least three motorcyclists faced a tragic accident by crushed under a truck in Patnitala upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The accident took place at Puina beside the Patnitala-Mohadevpur highway.
The deceased were identified as Abdus Salam, 45, son of Afsar Mondol from Chak Daulatpur village of Mohadevpur upazila, and Taufiq Islam, son of the deceased Abdus Salam, and Rani, 24, son of Ahad Ali from Najipur of Patnitala Upazila.
Parimol Chakrabarti, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patnitala Police Station, told the media that they all died on the spot, but the driver and the helper fled. The truck was seized.
In Dhaka (Savar), one motorcycle rider named Zillur Rahman, 48, was killed when a pickup van rammed him on the Dhaka-Dhamrai Road.
The accident occurred on Tuesday. The deceased was son of late Shafi Uddin of Bastha Nayachar village under Dhamrai upazila.
Dipok Chandu Saha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhamrai Police Station confirmed the news to media.
In Gopalganj, a teenager was killed when pick up van rammed him on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Kashiani upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Setu Sharif, 8, son of Wares Sharif of Rajpat village.
Azizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kashiani Police Station said, the incident occurred when the pick up van struck the boy on the highway leaving him dead on the spot.
In Jhenaidah, a boy was killed after a three-wheeler ran over him in Purbakrishnapur village of Sadar upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Sabbir Hossain, 9, son of Dablu Mandol.
In Cox’s Bazar, a schoolgirl died as her scarf got tangled with an easy-bike at Nuniachhara of Cox’s Bazar town in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Niru Akter, 13, daughter of Md Dulal.
Farid Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station confirmed the incident.
