7 more killed in road crashes

At least seven persons were killed and many others seriously injured in several road crashes across the country on Sunday.
In Dhaka, a businessman was killed when a car hit his motorcycle at city’s Nilkhet Intersection when he was lifting his daughter from school to residence.
The deceased was identified as Afsar Uddin, 55. He used to live in Old Dhaka.
KM Ashraf Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Lalbagh Police Station said that the car and its driver had been detained following the incident.”
In Bandarban, a police constable was killed when a bus hit his motorcycle in district town on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Imran Hossain Jony, 24, posted at RI office of Bandarban Police Lines. He was the son of Md Jahangir Alam from Chhagalnaiya Upazila of Feni.
Bandarban Sadar Police Station Officer in-Charge (Investigation) Enamul Haque Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.
Police, however, detained the bus driver with his vehicle.
In Madaripur, at least three persons, including a van driver, were killed in two separate road crashes.

At Kalkini, at least two van passengers were killed and two others injured when a bus hit them in Kornopara area under Kalkini upazila of the district on Sunday morning. The deceased were identified as Umme Hani Begum,50, from Maijpara area and Motaleb Madbar,55, from Minarji area.
Dr. Sashanto Ghos, Medical Officer of the Sadar Hospital confirmed the news to the media. Meanwhile, at Sibchar, a van driver named Jakir Fakir, 35, was killed when a truck hit him at Bablatola on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway under Sibchar upazila on Sunday evening. In Pirojpur, a motorcyclist named Tanvir Hasan Nilu,43, was killed when a passenger bus rammed him in Nazirpur upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.
