At least seven persons including a Hafize Quran were killed and 20 others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Tuesday.
In Bagura, at least three persons including a pair of siblings were killed in separate road accidents in Sherpur and Shibganj upazilas of the district on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Golam Rabbi, 18, and his sister Mariyam, 16 from Nandigram upazila.
At Sherpur, local sources said that the two siblings were killed as the motorcycle collided head-on with an oncoming truck in Kellaposhi area on Sherpur-Nandigram regional highway at 6 pm.
Iqbal Hossain, Sub-Inspector of Sherpur Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
In another accident, a woman was run over by a speedy truck after she fell from a motorcycle being hit by another truck in Mokamtala of Shibganj at 8.15 pm.
Sanatan Chandra, in-charge of Mokamtala police investigation center said.
In Gopalganj, a Pedestrian named Pannu Khan, 55, was killed in a road accident in Sadar upazila of district early Thursday.
Local sources said that, a speeding truck ran over Pannu in Dumudia area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway when he was walking after Fajr prayer, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Gopalganj General Hospital morgue.
Gopalganj Police Station officer in-charge Monirul Islam said. In Madaripur, a Hafize Quran named Amir Hamza,35, was killed when a truck hit him at Panisatro area on the shariatpur-Madaripur road on Tuesday noon.
The deceased Amir Hamza was son of one Panju Ali from Mymensing district.
Sirajul islam, Officer in Charge of Madaripur Sadar confirmed the news to the media.
In Dhamrai, (Dhaka) women named Kajli Begum, 45, was killed when a goods-laden truck rammed into an auto rickshaw at Suapur area of Dhamrai.
The accident took place on the Sreerampur-Suapur road Thursday noon.
The deceased Kajli Begum was daughter of one Mainuddin from Suapur of Dhamrai.
In Tangail, a house wife named Sheuly Begum, 40, was killed and her minor child seriously injured when a truck rammed them on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Mirzapur upazila on Tuesday.
