7 killed in separate road crashes

Al least seven people were killed and six other injured in two separate road crashes in Brahmanbaria and Thakurgaon districts on Sunday.
In Brahmanbaria, four people were killed and three others injured when a truck collided with a private car in Sohagpur area of Ashuganj upazila yesterday afternoon.
The deceased could not be identified immediately. All the victims were passengers of the private car.
Nur Haider, in-charge of highway police, said the accident took place when the sand-laden truck collided with the car coming from the opposite direction in front of the Firoj Miah Vocational College, leaving seven people critically injured.
The injured were rushed to Brahmanbaria sadar hospital where doctors declared four dead.
Vehicular movement on Dhaka- Sylhet highway came to halt for half-an hour following the accident. collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a passenger bus at Bhulli on the Thakurgaon-Panchagarh Highway in Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased were identified as Juran, 36, son of Abdul Karim, Montu, 22, son of Abdin Mohammad, and Habib, 26, son Bahes Ali — all residents of Lauthuti village of the same upazila.
Police and witnesses said the Panchagarh-bound bus of ‘Bablu Enterprise’ collided head-on with the three-wheeler in the area at about 6:30 am, leaving Juran, ridding the auto-rickshaw, dead on the spot and five others, also in the vehicle, injured.
The five injured, all critically, were admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital where Montu and Habib succumbed to their injuries.
AKM Mehedi Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
A case was filed in this connection.
