Seven people including four female workers and a couple, were killed in several road accidents in Kushtia, Bagerhat and Manikganj districts on Monday morning. In Kushtia, four female day labourers were killed and three others injured as a truck hit a human hauler in Bottoil area of the district town on Monday morning. The deceased were identified as Kamala, 40, Sukhijan, 35, Sajiran Khatun, 40 and Rabeya Khatun, 40, all residents of Laxmipur village in Sadar upazila. Proloy Chishim, superintendent of Kushtia Police, said the accident took place in the area around 7:30am when the truck hit the human hauler (locally name as Nasimon) in the area, leaving four passengers of the human hauler dead on the spot and three other injured. On information police recovered the bodies. Police also sized the truck. In Bagerhat, A motorcyclist and his wife were killed as a pick-up van hit the motorcycle in Piljongo area of Fakirhat upazila on Monday morning. The deceased were identified as Sudip Das, 35, a resident of the area, and his wife Sumita Rani Das, 25,. Abdul Farazi, officer-in-charge of Katakhali Highway Police, said, the Bagerhat-bound pickup van from Gopalganj hit the bike riders in the area around 8am, leaving the duo dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the bodies. They also seized the pick-up van, but the driver fled away. In Manikganj, A man was killed and five others injured as a microbus dashed a roadside tree in Mohadebpur area of Shibalaya upazila in the morning. The deceased was identified as Rouf Matbbar, 48, hailing from Komleshrodi village of Boalmari upazila in Faridpur district. Borongail highway police said, the accident took place as the Faridpur-bound microbus from Dhaka hit a roadside tree as its driver lost control over the wheel in the area around 7:30am, leaving the man dead on the spot and six passengers injured. — Dhaka, June 13 (UNB)
