At least seven persons including a head master were killed and 29 others injured in Tangail and Maherpur districts on Monday.
In Tangail, Six persons were killed when a truck plunged into a roadside ditch in Kalihati upazila of the district on Monday.
The deceased could not be identified yet, our district correspondent reports.
Arif Hossain, Sub-Inspector of Kalihati thana (Investigation) told the media that the Habiganj-bound truck from Gaibandha carrying a group of construction workers fell into the ditch around 5:30 am when the driver lost control over the steering.
The injured were sent to Tangail General Hospital where six of them died this morning.
In Meherpur, Headmaster of a high school was killed in a road accident in Sadar upazila of Meherpur on Monday afternoon.
Deceased Meer Mahbubur Rahman, 45, was the headmaster of Mominpur High School in Sadar upazila.
Police said a cattle-laden power trolley rammed a motorcyle carrying the teacher at Baradi Bazar in the afternoon, leaving him critically injured.
Mahbubur Rahman was whisked off to Meherpur General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
