UNB, Dhaka :At least eight people were killed and 27 others injured in separate road accidents in Noakhali, Faridpur, Chapainawabganj, Satkhira and Chittagong districts on Sunday and Saturday night.In Noakhali, three people were killed and three others injured as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw crashed into a tractor at Ebu Company area of Companyganjupazila on Saturday night. The deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain Mirza, 30, auto-rickshaw driver Habib, 38, and Harun, 25. All of them hailed from the Companyganj upazila.Witnesses said the three-wheeler hit the mud-laden tractor around 11 pm, leaving six people injured.Among the injured, three people died on the way to hospital. The other injured were admitted to Noakahli Medical College Hospital and Companyganj upazila health complex.In Faridpur, a retired army official, Nasiruddin Sikder, 50, was killed and 20 people were injured when a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Bikash Paribahan’ from Faridpur hit a roadside tree after colliding with a motorcycle at Basantapur on Dhaka-Khulna highway on Sunday noon. Nasiruddin hailed from Danga Durgapur in Gopalganj district.In Chapainawabganj, a minor boy was killed when a moving truck knocked him down at Sona Masjid Tower intersection in Shibganj upazila on Sunday noon.The victim was identified as Oli, 9, son of Ramzan Ali of Shahbazpur in the upazila.In Satkhira, an elderly man was killed when he fell from a human hauler on Satkhira-Khulna road at Benerpota on Sunday.The deceased was identified as Biswanath Roy, 70, a resident of Parkhukrali in Satkhira municipality area.
