7 including FF killed in road crashes

At least seven persons, including a freedom fighter, were killed and 30 others critically injured in several road crashes across the country on Tuesday.
In Faridpur, at least three people were killed and 20 others injured in a face to face collision between a bus and a truck on the Faridpur-Barishal Highway in Purba Sadardi area of Bhanga upazila in the district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Chandra Paribahan driver Siraj Mir,55 son of late Jinnat Mir, Rezaul Karim Farji,38, son of one Tota Faraji and kabir Uddin Hawlader,75, son of Mohon Hawlader. All were the residents of Madaripur district.
Kazi Shahedur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhanga Police Station said that a truck collided with a Dhaka-bound bus of Chandra Paribahan around 8am, leaving two persons, including the bus driver, dead on the spot.
Another died on the way to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex.
In Netrokona, at least two youths were killed and four others injured when two motorcycles collided head-on on the Netrokona-Mohonganj Highway in Barhatta upazila under Netrokona on Monday night.
The deceased were identified as Tanay Sarker, 21, son of one Shyam Chand, from Gopinathnath village of Taherpur upazila in Sunamganj and Mizan Mia, 23, from Batkona village of Mohonganj upazila in Netrokona.
Badrul Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barhatta Police Station, confirmed the matter.
In Dhaka, a freedom fighter named Abdul Khaleque,70, was killed when a truck rammed him in city’s Mirpur Section 1 on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim Abdul Khaleque was resident of Dumkhi upazila of Patuakhli district. He lived in Mirpur Section 1 with his two daughters.
Salauddin Miah,Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur Sha Ali Police Station told the matter to the media.
In Rajbari, a van driver named Jakir Hossain, 35, was killed when a truck hit him in Tetolia village under Baliakhandi upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.
Badiyar Rahman, Sub-Inspector of Balikhandi Police Station told the news media.
