Seven people, including a journalist, were injured as a fire broke out following an explosion of the underground gas pipe near the Central Bus Terminal at Kadamtali in the city on Friday noon.
The injured include Shahidul Islam, a photojournalist of the Daily Shokaler Khobor.
Witnesses said, fire erupted soon after the underground gas pipe went off with a big bang around 1 pm. The fire burnt down a microbus, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle, leaving seven people injured.
On information, three firefighting units rushed in and doused the flame after one hour of frantic efforts, said team leader of Taltala Fire Service station Nurul Islam.
