At least seven students were injured in a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Dhaka University’s Sir AF Rahman Hall on Sunday night.
Witnesses said, the supporters of BCL’s hall unit president Hafizur Rahman and that of general secretary Mahmudul Hasan Tusher locked into an altercation at its canteen over sitting for having dinner.
At one stage, the two groups fought a pitched battle chasing each other and vandalising the canteen furniture that
left seven students injured. The injured were identified as Nahid and Rakib of Political Science, Solaiman of Institute of Education Research (IER), Billal of Philosophy, Rubel of Mass Communication and Journalism, Atol of Sociology and Borhan of Persian Language and Literature departments.
