Chittagog Bureau :
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested seven leaders and activists of banned militant outfit Hijbut Tahrir from Andarkilla area under Kotwali thana in city yesterday.
The identity of the arrested could not be identified immediately.
A team of Kotwali police arrested them while they were distributing anti-state leaflets among the devotees after Juma prayers in Anderilla near the Shahi Jame Mosque.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali thana Mohiuddin Selim said the arrested include students of Chittagong University and of other private universities in the city.
Police would take steps after verifying their identity, the OC added.
