A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained seven persons with illegal arms and ammunition including a pistol, two magazines and 15-round bullets from the city’s Rampura area early Monday. The detained persons have been identified as Zahirul Islam, Humayun Kabir, Mohammad Hossain, Ferdous Mia, Omor Faruk, Raju, and Rasel.RAB-3 Operation Officer Major Kamran Kabir Uddin said that a team raided the second floor of a house in Rampura following information at around 1:15 am. They also recovered six long knives, 70 canes of bear, 13 mobile phone handsets and 16 Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards during the drive.The detained persons were interrogated in this connection at RAB-3 Office on Monday, he added. The RAB official said, a case would be lodged with the Rampura police station in this connection.
