Staff Reporter :The law enforcers arrested seven students in connection with the Dhaka University and Jagannath University’s admission tests question forgery on Friday. Of the arrested students, the mobile court jailed five students of different terms. Abdus Salam and Jubaidul Islam were awarded one month imprisonment for DU admission test question forgery, JnU student Rakibul Islam one year, JnU student Rashidul Islam two years and admission seeker Mokam Uddin Gazi one month. The other detainees are Milton and Pavel Ahmed. The ‘Gha’ unit’ admission test of Dhaka University started at 10am on Friday. The DU proctorial body detained Milton and Pavel Ahmed from Jagannath Hall on Thursday night suspecting their involvement in forgery case. Abdus Salam was caught at Sher-e-Bangla Government Girls’ High School centre when he was using mobile phone to receive answers from outsiders during the admission test. Another candidate Jubaidul Islam was picked up from Motijheel Government Girls’ High School for the same reason. “They were taken to the DU Proctor Office and awarded one month imprisonment by the mobile court. DU Acting Proctor Professor AM Amzad told The New Nation on Friday that the guilty students used electronic device which is strictly prohibited in the examination centers. A total of 90,130 admission seekers attended the test for 465 seats in ‘D Unit’ under Social Sciences Faculty of DU. Meanwhile, the Jagannath University authorities with the help of police detained three students from in front of the university’s main gate when they were trying to correct the admission test question papers. The ‘D Unit’ admission test of JnU was held peacefully. A total of 49,930 students took part in the admission test for 560 seats.
