UNB, Mymensingh :A court here on Monday sentenced seven people, including a man and his son, to life term imprisonment for killing a physician in sadar upazila in 2009.The convicts were identified as Abdul Kuddus, 55, his son Abdul Jabbar, 30, Rafiqul Islam, 40, Lal Mia, 42 and three brothers- Abu Taher, 40, Abul Kalam, 38, and Abul Syed, 35- all hail from Katlasen area in Sadar upazila of the district.According to prosecution, Abdul Kuddus and his group had killed Dr Harunur Rashid, 40, by beating at Katlasen bazar on November 11, 2009 following previous enmity.Mamunur Rashid, brother of the victim, filed a casewith Katwali police station in this connection on the following day.After examining the records and witnesses Additional District and Sessions Judge Jahirul Kabir handed down the verdict.
